Projects include air circuit breakers, switch-gear, connectors, plug-and-socket assemblies and controls for clients such as Pirelli, GEC, Polco, Power Controls, London Underground, and Wandsworth Electrical.

Primalec
The Invicta torch system (top left) is designed for the demanding professional market. It is tough, moulded from rubber and can be turned on and off using only one hand. Using bright, compact LED lamps, Goodwin developed a range of interchangeable torch heads, enabling the standard head to be replaced by one with a flexible neck for inspecting tight spaces and difficult corner areas.

Pirelli
Goodwin designed and engineered the Flexo modular power distribution system for harsh environments such as the Channel Tunnel. Flexo (left) be used on cables with diameters as narrow as 2.5 mm and as wide as 50 mm, with up to 6 conductors. The plug-and-socket assembly is compact, secure, fully sealed to IP67, and can survive temperatures of up to 950°C.

Power Controls
The M-PACT Air Circuit Breaker (bottom left) controls electrical distribution systems. Along with styling and ergonomics, Goodwin had to address safety issues and the question of how to control access to the breaker to prevent unauthorised use.

London Underground
A Goodwin-designed cable-management system for carrying power, lighting, PA, telecoms, and CCTV cables is being installed throughout the London Underground network, in both new and heritage stations. The system is easy to install and adapt to the extremely varied environments presented by the tube network.
