packaging and retail-brand development

Inevitably, some clients simply can't be categorised. Their projects overlap a number of our sectors or none at all! At Goodwin, we like to think of ourselves as 'specialising in diversity', and working outside our core sectors keeps our thinking fresh and vital. We avoid becoming type-cast or pigeon-holed, and our clients benefit from the cross-fertilisation of ideas that comes from working across different sectors.

Opt/Pakflatt
Goodwin have worked in partnership with Opt/Pakflatt for more than 16 years, designing products used in voting worldwide.

Ballot Boxes
Goodwin designed lightweight bellows-style ballot boxes (top left) as a replacement for the traditional steel box. They are hard wearing and collapsible for easy transportation and storage and were awarded Millennium Product Status in 2000.

We have also developed a rigid 'stackable' ballot box (middle left) with a two-part lid that fits neatly inside for storage. It is available in clear moulded plastic for countries in which ballot boxes must be seen to be empty before voting commences.

Ballot Booth
Goodwin designed a low cost ballot booth primarily for use in developing countries and emerging democracies. It is easy to construct, waterproof, and stores flat for transport or storage. Most ballot booths do not see the light of day between polls, so Goodwin incorporated reusability and multi-functionality into their design. Post-election, the booth can be instantly transformed into a desk or cafe table it even has a hole for an umbrella!

Selector
Selector (bottom left) is a unique device for helping blind and partially sighted people vote unaided. It was designed, tested, and developed by Goodwin, and over 60,000 Selectors were ordered by the Home Office for the 2001 General Elections.
